PUBLISHING CHECKLIST
**WORK IN PROGRESS**
I’m an indie published author. If you’re submitting to a publishing house, this checklist probably isn’t for you.
At this time in my writing career I feel like developmental edits are still worth their weight in gold. For me, I’d rather fix my story so that it’s the best it can be instead of publishing something that will cause my readers to throw my book across the room. Granted, they may chuck it anyway, but I do my best to create content that readers will love. In time, I anticipate that stage won’t be needed. (Finger’s crossed.)
In my need to get organized once and for all (I’m a dreamer, what can I say?), I created a cradle to grave publishing checklist. It’s still a work in progress. I’m sure it’ll be modified for practicality and remove things that don’t make sense. If you’d prefer to have this in Excel format, I have it sized for my Happy Planner (1/2 page), since that’s what I use.
